  9. DirectSound Xtra is a Lingo Xtra that enable Director applications to use 
  10. Microsoft's DirectSound 2 API. 
  11. The DirectSound 2 API provides low-latency mixing, hardware
  12. acceleration, and direct access to sound devices.
  13. Using this xtra, lingo programmers can now have more control over sound files:
  14. Mix as much sounds as you want, get and change the sound position, volume,
  15. panning and frequency!.
  16. This demo implements the DirectSound Xtra by giving you the ability to mix
  17. up to 6 channels with volume, panning and frequency control along with a
  18. keyboard filled with drum samples.

  20. This demo required that the Microsoft's DirectSound drivers will be installed
  21. in your computer. (Part of the DirectX/Game SDK)
